Christ Fellowship Family,
Governor Abbott announced that the state of Texas will take its first steps toward reopening tomorrow. We cannot wait to worship with you in person once again and we’re grateful that those days seem closer. However, as we continue to assess the situation, we believe we are not quite there yet.
We believe protecting your health and the lives of others in our community is a higher value than quickly returning to our building. A serious risk still exists to our community when any large gathering takes place and we are still able to fulfill our mission by worshiping online.
As this situation unfolds, we are taking the following actions to prepare for our return:
- A small team is closely monitoring the situation and meeting weekly to assess our next steps forward.
- We are maintaining an open and helpful dialog with our local officials for guidance.
- We are collaborating with over 30 DFW area churches who are working together to determine how and when to return to our buildings.
While it is premature to set any tentative dates for our return, we are working to ensure that this happens in a time and manner that provides your family with a safe worship experience and protects our community.
In the meantime, we have been moved over and again by your generosity, service, and authenticity in this season. We have watched life groups grow closer than ever before. You’ve served the most vulnerable in Collin County. Even this week, a group from Christ Fellowship delivered food and gifts to our heavily-hit neighbors at the Oxford Grand Assisted Living Center. Meanwhile, you’ve continued to give faithfully to the mission of Christ Fellowship.
As we take every reasonable precaution, your faithfulness to the mission of helping people find and follow Christ honors God, and blesses our community. Please continue to pray for those who are sick and serve those who are vulnerable. Continue to meet online and demonstrate authenticity in your relationships as we support each other. People are more open to hearing about God and his love for them than ever before. Take time to call and have meaningful conversations with others.
We are grateful for you. More importantly, we are thankful for God’s faithfulness, his goodness, and his sovereignty in these uncertain times. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces again soon!
